Lawyers: Watch where you cast your stones

The media, corporations, and others are taking hits for poor regulatory compliance and enforcement.

There's talk that the media should self-govern. Strange, it didn't work for auditors.

And "self-regulation" certainly doesn't work at the Bar. It's a sham system. And there are meaningless consequences at the Federal level for misconduct.

"What the client doesn't know...": Small problem, they've found out.

You no longer have confidence. That's you collective problem not just in the legal profession, but the third branch of government.

OFficers of the court, when you fail to meet standards and self-regualte, as you say you can, you show contempt to your own profession and those you serve. This mess is wholly yours to fix.
